Welcome to my portfolio website! Here you can find out what I have been up to recently. My latest illustration project is my collaboration with Astrophysics scientist Author Talin Kaloustian. We are working on a primary grade level childrens picture/poem book series called "Real Science • Simple Series". Our first book in this series is now out and can be found at Barnes & Noble, Amazon, through the publisher FriesensPress and the author's website (www.talinkaloustianmedia.com). Our first book is titled "Is The Sky Always Blue". It is a lovely poem that actually answers the questions children ALWAYS ask about why the sky is blue during the day, dark at night and rainbow colored at sunset! Don't worry parents (and teachers)! There is a glossary at the end of the book that refers to specific pages and illustrations we use to demonstrate the various scientific processes. The glossary has the actual scientific names and explanations for each process, and also refers to Talin's website (www.talinkaloustianmedia.com) where teachers and students of all ages can access the data in greater detail. The Kirkus Review gave us their important seal of approval: "[Is The Sky Always Blue] blends fact and fancy with an easy manner, structuring the story around an examinatin of the blueness of the sky wth short rhyming phrases... A valuable educatonal tool and a fun read." Ask your local childrens' book librarian to order "Is The Sky Always Blue" through The Ingram Book Company, who has the trade distribution rights for this book series.
At the same time, I continue focusing much of my time on designing and painting theatrical scenery, painting commissioned portraits of people, pets and homes, and working on paintings for my "Scenic California" series of watercolors that I use for my "Giclee" art prints and note cards!
I have completed the patent illustrations for TuBallRX and TuBeltRX that are now officially in the US patent office archives! Iwas very involved with the TuBallRx Marketing Art, website development and YouTube video production. Amazingly, I now have 40+ years of expreience in marketing and advertising both in print and digital video media.
I enjoyed working on may multi-media projects with Ferns Music/Fern Forest Enterprises. My favorite project so far has been the creation and publication of ROCKRHYDIN. Written by Cheryl Elizabeth Waddell, it is a Children's picture book about a sprecial bond between a young boy, his rocking horse and the magic of Christmas wishes. Rockrhydin (pronounced: Rock-Ride-in") has won the Mom's Choice Award and First Place in the New England Book Festival. was also asked to create a YouTube video for the theme song "Rockrhydin" using illustrations from the book. When you watch it, listen to the special "extra" sound during the credits. It is a lovely song. .

Janice Prey Wolfe is a San Francisco Bay Area artist, designer and portraitist who specializes in watercolor, pencil, acrylic, mural, photographic, digital and print and web media. A graduate of the University of California at Berkeley's Studio Art program, she has developed a body of work in the fields of Commissioned Fine Art/Portraiture, Illustration/Graphic Design, Tromp l'œil Mural/Theatrical Backdrop painting, Photography/Videography, Web Design, Animation and Post-Production Video Editing.
Recently, to keep up with the environmentally friendly option of paperless communication, she has addedwebsite design and maintenence to her artistic repertoire.
